Web Designer
Position: Part-Time Remote Web Designer
Type: Independent Contractor (1099-NEC)
Location: Remote
Hours: Approximately 15-25 hours per week (flexible)
Compensation: $35 - $ per hour (depending on experience)
Company Overview:
We are a fast-growing educational and e-commerce business seeking an experienced, detail-oriented web developer to maintain, update, and improve our Shopify website. As our web developer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the functionality, user experience, and overall performance of our site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the Shopify website, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
- Install, manage, and troubleshoot Shopify apps to enhance the store's capabilities.
- Build customizability features to improve customer experience and backend workflows.
- Leverage AI tools and technologies to expand the website’s functionality, improve quality, and expedite workflows.
- Collaborate closely with the store manager to address any issues, improve workflows, and implement new features as needed.
- Identify and resolve technical problems, ensuring the site remains up-to-date with best practices and new technologies.
- Perform regular audits to ensure optimal site speed, security, and SEO performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a web developer with a focus on Shopify.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid (Shopify’s templating language).
- Experience with Shopify apps, APIs, and integrations.
- Familiarity with AI tools and technologies to enhance site functionality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms and understanding of online retail workflows.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and website performance optimization.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
